ABOUT ME
Hello, my name's Portia Da Costa, and I write naughty books! And
I've been writing them for longer than I care to remember...
Way back in 1984 [significant, eh?] a friend of mine asked me
to write a sexy story so that she could illustrate it, and I thought...
No way! I'd always read lots and lots of books, and I'd always enjoyed
sensual stories, but me write one? Again... No way! Writing was what 'authors'
did - those mythical, exalted geniuses who put lots and lots of words
together in clever combinations that finally turned out as a published
story or book.
Anyway, not one to shirk a challenge, I had a bash, and I astounded myself.
I produced my first sexy story! Not the one my friend wanted, but one
that I enjoyed writing so much that I just wanted to write another...
and another... and another!
And the rest is history! Over twenty years later, I'm still writing and
I've had lots of books and stories published, and most of them are erotic.
But it's only in the last year or so that I've found the perfect marriage
of the two types of fiction that I love the best - which are romance
and erotica. And that magical marriage is romantica, and
the perfect matchmaker is Ellora's Cave!
In 2005 I'll be having my first Ellora's Cave Romantica novel
published, and it's called Lessons and Lovers. My lovely editor
has classified it as a 'spicy contemporary' and I've got to say, she's
nailed it perfectly! There is a lot of spice in L&L,
and I'm hoping that my readers will enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoyed
writing it!
And I'm hoping it'll be the first of many... Watch this space because
I've got some cracking ideas brewing!
